Two of our favorite seasons of the year are spring and summer, when a handful of our mature rabbit does (females) have litters.
Not only are newborn baby rabbits, called kits, delicate and precious (baby rabbits are born hairless) but we also get to choose enjoyable names for all of them!
We love giving our rabbits fun and cute names, and wanted to share some of our favorite funny bunny names with you. Read on for some of the best rabbit names we’ve come up with over the years!
Funny Bunny Names
Let’s start off with some of the funniest bunny names on record on our homestead; note that most of these were thought up by my young kids:

Over the years we have given a number of unique and silly female rabbit names to our dear doe rabbits, some of which include:

Funny Male Rabbit Names
When my son William was five years old, he loved to name all the baby rabbits, and often came up with great, funny names for our male, buck rabbits:

Unusual Rabbit Names
Some of our most favorite, unusual rabbit names are the ones we draw from what surroundings our rabbits here on our hobby farm, especially the veggie garden!
We also love to get really creative with our rabbits’ names, taking inspiration from the season or day of the week. The names listed below include those given to female and male rabbits alike:
- Tamarack
- Wednesday
- Meadow
- Yeti
- Clover

- Winter (Winny for short!)

Bunny Names With Meaning
Some of the most common and coolest rabbits names with meaning are those from another language or one that is a play off of an existing persons name, for example:
- Luna – luna means moon in Spanish
- Ben Cumberbunny
- Bloem – bloem means flower in Dutch
- Rabbit Frost
- Soleil – soleil means sun in French.
- Atilla the Bun
- Lebun James
We named a youngster rabbit Lebun James because he would hop all around his mother’s hutch as a baby and remains a very active, agile adult rabbit!

Some of my most favorite, cute rabbit names that we’ve given to our bunnies include the following:
- Sugarbean
- Bailey
- Putter
- Marshmallow
- Benny
Final Thoughts On Funniest Bunny Names
The best part about raising rabbits, or getting a pet rabbit, is the opportunity to choose a funny, cute rabbit name for them!
We even make small name tags to put on the outside of all of our rabbits’ hutches so that we, and any guest, can call them by their name daily.
